ค้ำประกัน • ‎(kám-bprà-gan)

1. (law) suretyship.
   • 1926, พระราชกฤษฎีกาให้ใช้บทบัญญัติแห่งประมวลกฎหมายแพ่งและพาณิชย์ บรรพ ๑ และบรรพ ๒ ที่ได้ตรวจชำระใหม่ ลงวันที่ ๑๑ พฤศจิกายน ๒๔๖๘:

     มาตรา ๖๘๐ อันว่าค้ำประกันนั้น คือ สัญญาซึ่งบุคคลภายนอกคนหนึ่งเรียกว่า ผู้ค้ำประกัน ผูกพันตนต่อเจ้าหนี้คนหนึ่งเพื่อชำระหนี้ในเมื่อลูกหนี้ไม่ชำระหนี้นั้น‎

     Section 680 As for suretyship, it is a contract by which a third person, called surety, binds himself to an obligee with the performance of an obligation when the obligor fails to perform it.
