สัญญา • ‎(sǎn-yaa)

1. (law) a contract.
   • สัญญานี้ต้องทำเป็นหนังสือ  ―  sǎn-yaa níi dtɔ̂ng tam bpen nǎng-sʉ̌ʉ  ―  This contract must be made in writing.
2. an agreement.
   • สัญญาต้องเป็นสัญญา  ―  sǎn-yaa dtɔ̂ng bpen sǎn-yaa  ―  Agreements must be kept. / (literally) Agreements must be agreements.
3. a promise.
4. (Buddhism) one of the five aggregates (ขันธ์) that constitute a sentient being: form (รูป), sensation (เวทนา), perception (สัญญา), impulses (สังขาร), and consciousness (วิญญาณ).
