1. (intransitive with in + accusative, chiefly dated, literary) to enter; to go inside

6. (transitive) to contract; to conclude (an agreement)

   You have concluded a binding contract, which you must fulfil.

Usage notes

• The perfect auxiliary is generally sein; in transitive use it can alternatively be haben: Sie haben einen bindenden Vertrag eingegangen. (Such usage is suggested by prescriptive grammar, but sounds somewhat odd in this case.)
