  1. (usually in the singular) green, greenness (the quality of that which is green)
    lapu zaļums ― the greenness of leaves

    mežu tumšais zaļums ― the dark green of the forest
    gaišs zaļums sedz kalnus un gravas ― light green (= vegetation) covered mountains and ravines

    zaļumu vītnes ― garland, wreath of greens (leaves, twigs, flowers, etc.)
