   aizbildnībā esoša persona‎ ― a person in (lit. being in) guardianship

   spēkā esošs līgums — a valid (lit. in force being) agreement, contract

   meklēšanā esošs vīrietis mēģina izceļot uz Londonu‎ ― a wanted man (lit. a man being in searching) tries to travel to London

2. (definite form, used as an adjective) current, present (valid at the present time)

   Salaspilī vēlēšanās cīnīsies esošais un bijušais mērs‎ ― in the Salaspils elections, the current and the previous mayor will fight
