Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *bukura, derivative of *buk- ‎(“lush, lusty”), from Proto-Indo-European *bʰoHu- ‎(“to grow, swell”), close to Proto-Germanic *būkaz ‎(“belly, body”), compare Icelandic búkur ‎(“torso”), English bouk, Old Czech buj ‎(“mad, foolish”)). Similar sense development as with kolmë. Related to bukël. The Proto-Albanian root has probably had a cognate in Dacian [1]
