-özik

1. (verbal suffix) Added to a noun or verb to form a verb.

   járőr ‎(“patrol”) → járőrözik ‎(“to patrol”)

   üvölt ‎(“to scream, to yell”) → üvöltözik ‎(“to yell repeatedly”)

Usage notes

• (verbal suffix) Variants:

  -zik is generally added to words ending in a vowel

  -azik is added to some back vowel words

  -ozik is added to back vowel words

  -ezik is added to unrounded front vowel words

  -özik is added to rounded front vowel words
