1. follows a noun to indicate that this noun possesses some previously mentioned object, much like English 's

   Hierdie is my broer se kamer en daardie is my suster s’n.

   This is my brother’s room and that one is my sister’s.

Usage notes

• S’n is also used to form the possessive pronouns according with ons ‎(“we”), u ‎(“you (polite)”), julle ‎(“you (plural)”), and hulle ‎(“they”). For example: Ons het ons probleme en hulle het hulle s’n (“We have our problems and they have theirs.”) The other personal pronouns have special forms: myne, joune, syne, and hare.
