From Proto-Albanian *prainja, from Proto-Indo-European *prāy-, *prēy- 'like, love'. Cognate to Sanskrit प्रिणति ‎(prīṇāti, “to please”) and Gothic frijon ‎(frijon, “to love”)^[2].
