Usage notes

The possesive adjectives derived from nouns referring to animals (e. g. orlův) are used quite rarely,^[1] the adjectives like orlí are used instead: orlí let is far more frequent than orlův let (eagle's flight). The possessive adjective is usually preferred when referring to a single animal, not to the animals (e. g. eagles) generally.
