1. (obsolete) The action of mixing or blending together; commingling.
2. (obsolete) The blending (of wines, etc.); garbling.
3. (obsolete) coition; copulation; sexual intercourse.
   • 1596, Edmund Spenser, The Faerie Queene, VI.6:

     ‘Of that commixtion they did then beget / This hellish Dog, that hight the Blatant Beast […].’

4. (obsolete) commixture; a commixed condition or state.
5. (obsolete) A mixture; a compound.
6. A technical term in Roman and Scottish law denoting a method of acquiring property by mixing or blending substances belonging to different proprietors.
7. The putting of a small piece of the host into the chalice during Mass, typifying the reunion of body and soul at the resurrection.
