Usage notes

It was subdivided into three taxonomic empires; Protistodeae (unicellular life, or protists), Metaphytodeae (multicellular plants), and Zoodeae (multicellular animals). In modern usage, plants are organized into the taxonomic kingdom Plantae, animals into Animalia, while unicellular organisms are variously divided.
