Mingrelian

Etymology

Borrowed from Georgian ერთობა (ertoba).

Ačaṙean, who based on Erckert glossed Mingrelian ერთობა (ertoba) with “village community, commune”, derived it from Armenian երդ (erd, house, household) (pronounced IPA(key): [jɛɾtʰ]). But since the meaning “village community, commune” is not reliable or at least is not the primary one, this etymology should be discarded.

Noun

ერთობა (ertoba)

  1. unity
