Etymology

The forms յակինթ (yakintʿ) and յակինթոս (yakintʿos) are directly from Ancient Greek ὑάκινθος (huákinthos). According to Ačaṙyan, the rest have been influenced by Classical Syriac ܝܩܘܢܕܐ (yāqūndāʾ, yaqqūndāʾ), but compare Manichaean Parthian yʾkwnd (yākund) unknown to Ačaṙyan.
