   խեղդ արկանել/առնել անձին, ի խեղդ գալ/մտաբերել‎ ― xełd arkanel/aṙnel anjin, i xełd gal/mtaberel ― to strangle, to choke one's self

   խեղդ ընդ անձին հեղձամղձուկ պաշարիլ բանիւն‎ ― xełd ənd anjin hełjamłjuk pašaril baniwn ― to be embarrassed and confounded by, not to know what to say or do

2. halter, rope, noose

   խեղդք շրթանց‎ ― xełdkʿ šrtʿancʿ ― flattery, wheedling, cajolery

   խեղդ ընդ անձն ուրուք արկանել, առ խեդղս ածել զոք‎ ― xełd ənd anjn urukʿ arkanel, aṙ xedłs acel zokʿ ― to put a rope on the neck of, to bring to the halter, to strangle, to throttle, to choke
