According to Ačaṙean, from Proto-Indo-European *lol-, an ablaut of *lel- ‎(“to move, to shake”) and cognate with Lithuanian leliúoti ‎(“to swing”), Russian леле́ять ‎(leléjatʹ, “to cherish, foster”), Sanskrit लेलायति ‎(lelāyati, “to move to andﾠfro, quiver, tremble, shake”), Old Armenian լլկեմ ‎(llkem, “to torture”), dialectal Armenian լելալ ‎(lelal, “to move, shake”), լող ‎(loł, “roller”), լոլիկ ‎(lolik, “tomato”), etc. This is accepted by J̌ahukyan.
