Usage notes

• Note on irregular forms — глаза́ is actually an old nominative dual form. The genitive plural in глаз ‎(glaz) is also an archaic form and was usual in Old Church Slavonic (глазъ ‎(glazŭ)). In the locative case, the ъ ‎(ŭ)-ending of Old Church Slavonic has become у ‎(u) in the modern language: в глазу́.
