scorebox ‎(plural scoreboxes)

1. (cricket) An enclosed structure in which the scorers sit; often behind the scoreboard
2. (video games) A box overlaid on the screen to display the player's score.

     Video games are notorious for having relatively unchanging areas on the screen (ie the scorebox), which can quickly be burned into the screen.
