  1. (intransitive) to make juice

    Our juicer was worth it; it makes juice like anything.
  2. (intransitive) to exude juice or another liquid
    Der weiche Untergrund unter unseren Füßen saftete mehr und mehr.
    The soft ground under our feet let out more and more liquid.
  3. (intransitive) to be or become full of sap
    Im Frühling saften die Bäume, allen voran die Birken.
    In spring the trees are full of sap, especially the birches.
  4. (intransitive, informal) to make inappropriate comments
    Wenn der hier so weiter saftet, kommen wir mit unserer Besprechung nie zum Schluss.
    If he’s just going to talk nonsense, we’ll never get this meeting over with.
