From the Byzantine Greek φαγ- ‎(phag-), perfective stem of ἔφαγον ‎(éphagon, “I ate”, “I devoured”), singular first-person aorist active indicative form (by suppletion) of ἐσθίω ‎(esthíō, “I eat”, “I devour”).
