Cognates outside Celtic include Ancient Greek τυφλός ‎(tuphlós, “blind”), Gothic 𐌳𐌰𐌿𐌱𐍃 ‎(daubs, “deaf”), German taub ‎(“deaf”), English deaf, English dumb.^[1][2]
