Etymology

From Late Latin poplexia, apoplexia, from Ancient Greek ἀποπληξία ‎(apoplēxía), from ἀποπλήσσειν ‎(apoplḗssein) to cripple by a stroke; ἀπό ‎(apó, “from”) + πλήσσειν ‎(plḗssein, “to strike”).
