1. heat (condition where a mammal is aroused sexually or where it is especially fertile and therefore eager to mate) (used primarily of dogs)

     conventional orthography: Dá dtagadh adhall ar an mbitch in am, bhéarfadh sí cuain anois. ‎(“If the bitch had come into heat in time, she’d have a litter now.”)
