چرخیدن • ‎(čarxidan) ‎(present stem چرخ ‎(čarx))

1. (intransitive) to rotate, turn, revolve, spin (to move around an axis)

   به دور خود چرخیدن‎ ― be dour-e xod čarxidan ― to turn, spin (around)

   زمین به طور مداوم به دور خود می‌چرخد.‎ ― zamin be tur-e modâvem be dour-e xod mi-čarxad ― The Earth is constantly spinning.

   زمین یک بار در هر بیست و چهار ساعت به دور خود می‌چرخد.‎ ― zamin yek bâr dar har bist-o-čahâr sâ’at be dour-e xod mi-čarxad ― The Earth revolves once every 24 hours.

   به دور محور خود چرخیدن‎ ― be dour-e mehvar-e xod čarxidan ― to rotate about one’s axis

2. (intransitive) to spin (to rotate or turn around quickly)

   توپ بر روی زمین به دور خود می‌چرخد.‎ ― tup bar ru-ye zamin be dour-e xod mi-čarxad ― The ball is spinning around on the ground.

   آن اسکیت‌باز بر روی یخ به دور خود می‌چرخد.‎ ― ân eskeyt-bâz bar ru-ye yax be dour-e xod mi-čarxad ― That skater is spinning on the surface of the ice.

3. (intransitive) to circle (to travel in a circle or circles)

   پرنده‌ها بالای سرمان می‌چرخیدند.‎ ― parande-hâ bâlâ-ye saremân mi-čarxidand ― The birds were circling above us.

4. (intransitive) to walk around, have a walk around

   رفتیم بیرون بچرخیم.‎ ― raftim birun be-čarxim ― We went out to walk around.
