And if a man or woman leaves neither ascendants nor descendants but has a brother or a sister, then for each one of them is a sixth. But if they are more than two, they share a third, after any bequest which was made or debt, as long as there is no detriment [caused].
  2. commandment, ordinance
    • Qur'an 4:12:

waṣiyyatam mina l-lāhi wal-lāhu ʿalīmun ḥalīmun
[This is] an ordinance from Allah , and Allah is Knowing and Forbearing.
    • Bible (SVD), Book of Exodus, 15:26
faqāla: “ʾin kunta tasmaʿu liṣawti r-rabbi ʾilāhika, wataṣnaʿu l-ḥaqqa fī ʿaynayhi, wataṣḡā ʾilā waṣāyāhu wataḥfaẓu jamīʿa farāʾiḍihi, famaraḍan mā mimmā waḍaʿtuhu ʿalā l-miṣriyyīna lā ʾaḍaʿu ʿalayka. faʾinnī ʾanā r-rabbu šāfīka”.
And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
