      בֵּיצֵי צִפְעוֹנִי בִּקֵּעוּ וְקוּרֵי עַכָּבִישׁ יֶאֱרֹגוּ הָאֹכֵל מִבֵּיצֵיהֶם יָמוּת וְהַזּוּרֶה תִּבָּקַע אֶפְעֶה׃
      beitséi tsif'oní biké'u v'kuréi 'akavísh ye'erógu ha'okhél mibeitseihém yamút v'hazuré tibaká' 'ef'é.
      bēṣē ṣip̄ʿōnī biqqḗʿū wəqūrē ʿakkāḇīš yeʾĕrṓḡū hāʾōḵēl mibbēṣēhem yāmūṯ wəhzzūrē tibbāqaʿ ʾep̄ʿe.
      They hatch basilisks' eggs, and weave the spider's web; he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.

      כֵּן אָרְחוֹת כָּל־שֹׁכְחֵי אֵל וְתִקְוַת חָנֵף תֹּאבֵד׃ אֲשֶׁר־יָקוֹט כִּסְלוֹ וּבֵית עַכָּבִישׁ מִבְטַחוֹ׃ יִשָּׁעֵן עַל־בֵּיתוֹ וְלֹא יַעֲמֹד יַחֲזִיק בּוֹ וְלֹא יָקוּם׃
      kén 'or'khót kol-shokh'khéi 'él v'tikvát khanéf tovéd. 'asher-yakót kisló uvéit 'akavísh mivtakhó. yisha'én 'al-beitó v'ló ya'amód yakhazík bó v'ló yakúm.
      kēn ʾorəḥōṯ kol-shōḵəḥē ʾēl wəṯiqwaṯ ḥānēp̄ tōḇēḏ. ʾăšer-yāqōṭ kislō ūḇēṯ ʿakkāḇīš miḇṭaḥō. yiššāʿēn ʿal-bēṯō wəlō yaʿămōḏ yaḥăzīq bō wəlō yāqūm.
      So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hope of the godless man shall perish; Whose confidence is gossamer, and whose trust is a spider's web. He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand; he shall hold fast thereby, but it shall not endure.
