Usage notes

The standard spelling is теҥери but other spellings are also used and pronunciation varies, often the final И can cease to exist. Near the border of Tuva, Tuvan дээр is used sometimes. It is probably because of this proximity, the initial can be voiced even if a middle velar nasal remains, but is regardless typically not written as диҥир, диңгир or other forms with Д except in pseudoscientific contexts to imply relation to Sumerian 𒀭.
