     This masterly summary of the Californian Neogene Tertiary deals with both the systematic and œcologic aspects of the fossil faunas. The Œcologic Chart, enclosed in the pocket of the book, is of particular interest, as picturing the bathymetric ranges of the foraminiferal genera, and they appear to be carefully sorted and arranged according to all available data.
